Montagne, Mike - 'Prototype Masters' 8'3" 2/2 6-7wt R-Quad Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a very scarce Mike Montagne "Prototype Masters 67", 8'3" 2/2, 6-7wt bamboo rod in mint condition. Hollow built, rectangular quadrate design. Lightly tempered cane, carbide stripping guides and hard chrome snake guides throughout. Wraps are white silk (clear) with black ferrule wraps and crimson accents. Sections are straight, full length & serialized. Ferrules fit perfectly and the female is fitted with a machined ferrule plug. The butt is inked with the model information, maker's signature and the original owner's name (Michael D. Clark). Bent wire hook keeper, 6" cork grip bright & smooth. The rod section extends through the grip, and the uplocking aluminum reel seat is affixed to the end of the bamboo. Weight is 5.15oz Very fast action, I prefer it with a WF7F, although these rods were made to cast shooting heads of various weights. Montagne rods have enjoyed a well-deserved cult following, and many of the design elements are completely unique to this maker. They are purpose built for performance, with ultra-responsive actions and rapid recovery. Never made in great numbers, his rods rarely come to market. Don't miss this opportunity! Sold in the original blue signature rod sock and powder coated tube with engraved brass cap.
