Leonard, H.L. - Hunt Model 50DF, 8' 3/2 6wt Bamboo Rod - Pre-Fire

For sale here is a rare H.L. Leonard Hunt 50DF, 8' 3/2 6wt bamboo fly rod. Excellent restored condition, reportedly restored by Dave Holloman in the 1990's. Featuring medium toned cane with golden tan wraps and crimson accents. Potbelly ferrules fit perfectly, and the butt ferrule retains the patent information. Some of the original bluing is intact but I suspect it was touched up when the rod was restored. All sections are full length and straight, except for a small set in one tip. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.5"cork grip (soiled with light ridging), and up-locking reel seat. The reel seat hardware has the distinct black finish of the original Leonard Hunt rods, and the barrel retains the Leonard roll stamp and "Tournament" on the reverse. The initials "C.T.K." are inscribed faintly on the reel seat collar, and the same initials are engraved on the tube collar. Weight is 4.62oz. Medium/medium-fast action, I like it with a DT6. Very few original Leonard Hunt rods have surfaced; they remain a rare variant from the early days at the H.L. Leonard Rod Co. This one is restored and ready to fish, sold in the original bag (with hang tag!) and brass capped tube.
