For sale here is a rare 8'6" 3/2 7wt Morris Kushner bamboo rod. Kushner made rods in the Detroit area in the 1960's and after he passed in 1973 his shop was sold to Bob Summers. The butt/mid/one tip are perfect matches in terms of the cane, wraps and finish. The 2nd tip has very similar measurements, but the look of the cane and the wraps is slightly different. Also, the ferrule station is cut ~1/4 higher and you can see this under the wraps. The 2nd tip is a replacement but it's hard to say who made it or when. Chestnut brown wraps with dark guides. Ferrules fit perfectly and the sections are full length with slight sets in both tips. 6.6" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a down-locking reel seat over fine wood spacer. The maker's signature graces the butt section near the winding check, although it's a bit faint. Weight is 6.31oz. Medium fast action, I think it's best with a DT7, but some may prefer it with a 6wt. Very few Kushner rods were produced, and people tend to hang on to them. This one packs into a replacement foldover bag and aluminum tube.
