For sale here is a rare and beautiful Peerless #2 fly reel from the bench of Joe Janciuras. Mint, unused condition. German silver frame and spool with ebonite side plate & bands on the interior between the spool and the rims. Classic S-handle design, and the on/off clicker works as intended. 2 3/4" diameter with a pillar width of 1.09". The swing away oil port bears the maker's mark, and the overall weight is 6.07oz. Joe Janciuras passed away in 2011 and is best known for his recreations of the classic Edward Vom Hofe trout reels. He is perhaps best known for his "Perfection" style reels, and very few of these Peerless reels were ever produced. His workmanship is without compare and his legacy is well deserved. This reel is essentially "new old stock" and packs into the original Arne Mason leather case.
