For sale here is a Gary Howells 7'6" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in excellent+ condition. Serial #4065, made in 1973 for Classic Rods. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes, bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved chestnut brown with gold tipping. All sections are full length, straight & serialized. 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is overwrapped to the welt. 6" Western grip is bright and smooth, and the rod is fitted with Howells' uplocking aluminum reel seat over zebrawood spacer. Actual weight is 3.5oz (1/2oz accounted for by the reel seat). A classic Howells rod with medium action that flexes down to the grip. The rod has been lawn cast and possibly fished sparingly but it shows no obvious signs of use. Sold in the original bag and tube with label affixed.
