Hardy - Bougle 1903 Commemorative Limited Edition Fly Reel w/ Spare Spool

For sale here is a 1903 commemorative Hardy Bougle & spare spool in very good used condition. Released by Hardy's in the late 1990's, this is a replica of the 1903 3" Bougle complete with the early checkwork. RHW only, the interior is stamped "IWE - 793 USA". 2 7/8" across pillars with a spool width of 7/8". Matte silver finish with rolling nickel silver bottom pillar and smooth alloy foot. Strap-over tensioner offers a wide range of resistance. The check work suffers from an over-application of grease which renders the click somewhat muted. I think this reel would benefit from a thorough cleaning and re-oiling. Both spools fit perfectly. A tasteful re-issue of the early Bougle and a nice size for 3/4wt fishing. The reel packs into its original block leather case and the spool comes in a drawstring pouch.
