Halstead, G.H. - 9' 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 9' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod made by George Halstead. Very good condition with a few notes. The wraps appear original except one tip ferrule is rewrapped along with the tip snake on the mid section. The bottom snake guide on the tip with the rewrapped ferrule has broken threads on one side; this should be rewrapped prior to use. Also, the varnish shows signs of softening, especially on the butt section. There are a few sags/areas of minor alligatoring but the varnish has hardened up, and I would characterize the issue as purely cosmetic. Golden tan wraps with oxblood tipping, blued ferrules and red agate stripping guide. Ferrules fit perfectly and the sections are all straight & full length. The cork has been cleaned and shows minor ridging. Down-locking reel seat hardware with the G.H. Halstead stamp intact on the collar. Weight is 5.11oz. Medium action, best with a 5wt. An interesting rod, most Halstead 9' rods tend to be heavier action and made for heavier lines. This feels like a true blue 9-foot trout rod. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube.
