For sale here is a Gillum 12', two-hand salmon rod in very good used condition. 3-piece / 2-tip configuration, serial # I-825. Medium tempered cane with heavy wire snake guides and perfection stripping guide, wrapped in brown windings with black & white accents at the winding check and ferrules. Super-Z ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight and full length. Both guides on the butt section and the bottom three guides on the mid are re-wrapped in slightly more transparent brown thread. There is also a very small (~9mm) varnish chip on the mid between the 2nd and 3rd guides that has been neatly filled in. Otherwise, the varnish is in good condition throughout. One of the Perfection tip-tops is a period correct replacement. Aluminum winding check & down-locking reel seat with hard rubber fighting butt. The cork on the fore and aft grips are slightly soiled and have just a hint of ridging. Stated weight is 14 1/2oz, but it's closer to 14 1/4oz on my scale. A scarce two-handed Gillum salmon rod ready to hit the water. Sold in the original bag and Champion tube with Gillum label. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
