For sale here is an Everett Garrison Model 228, 9' 2/2 8wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Medium toned cane with transparent windings and red/green windings at the tip tops. Blued 16/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized. The serial K-9-1 indicates a build year of either 1941 or 1967, and I believe this rod is from the earlier date. Tips are marked "228 B". The chocolate brown wraps at the hook keeper are reportedly redone, and one of the tip ferrules was reset, otherwise the rod is all original. The varnish has a few small checks & scratches from honest use, and some very small, very light areas of bag burn on the tips. All-cork grip & reel seat is slightly soiled and ridged throughout. Down-sliding reel seat over cork spacer. Weight is 5.5oz. Medium fast progressive action, a powerful rod that loads nicely with a floating 8wt but I suspect it would handle a variety of lines & shooting heads for salmon/steelhead fishing. Sold in the original bag with tethered ferrule plug and brass capped tube.
