Farlows - 2 3/4" Fly Reel

For sale here is a very fine 2 3/4" C. Farlow fly reel in excellent used condition. It appears to be a J.W. Young Pattern 1 with 2 sets of spool porting, an unusual feature. Full length smooth brass foot is fixed by 2 screws, one of which has a small split at the head, although the foot remains quite secure. Erinoid handle grasp and fixed RHW check. The spool is affixed by a knurled nickel silver screw. The back of the reel has the Farlows "Holdfast" logo along with "Size 2 3/4" Inches" in large font, another uncommon feature. The reel is mechanically tight with crisp click & pawl action. Weight is 4.13oz. A fine dry fly reel, ideal for a 3 or 4wt line and stylistically reminiscent of the Kineya 301 reel. Sold in an interesting drawstring pouch.
