For sale here is an Edwards Quadrate model #50, 8' 3/2 bamboo rod, restored by C.W. "Sam" Carlson. An older restoration in excellent shape, the rod was rewrapped and rescripted in Verna's (Sam's wife's) handwriting. Small "C" between the hook keeper wraps indicating a Carlson restoration. Medium flamed bamboo with dark guides wrapped in maroon windings with black tipping. Ferrules fit perfectly, and the sections appear to be full length although the butt is 1/3" shorter than the mid and tips (made that way). One tip has a pronounced set. 6" grip is soiled with light ridging, and the rod is fitted with a Bakelite winding check & down-locking reel seat over varnished wood spacer. Weight is 4.59oz Medium fast action, perfect with a DT5. Sold in original bag and tube with faded decal affixed.
