For sale here is a spectacular Dickerson 8014 Guide, 8' 2/2 6wt bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Medium toned bamboo with 3x3 nodes, transparent brown wraps and black tipping. All sections are straight & full length. 14/64 ferrules have a tight metal-to-metal fit but there is the faintest, almost imperceptible rocking against the cane. I suspect the female ferrule is the culprit, and I think there's a reasonable expectation this may remedy itself if the rod spends some time in more humid climate (it has spent many years in Montana). 4 signature wraps on the butt section above Lyle Dickerson's distinct script. 6.5" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with Dickerson's standard down-locking reel seat over walnut spacer. Weight is 4.66oz. Medium fast action, it casts a WF6 beautifully. The varnish remains in nice condition with a few tiny nicks/scratches from careful use over the years. A storied taper, introduced in 1949. The bag and tube are original and the tube cap has the short-lived style of two raised circles on top. A rare opportunity to own an all original 8014 Guide in fantastic shape!
