For sale here is a 7'6" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt staggered ferrule rod from Constable of Bromley. Very good used condition, the rod features snake guides and root beer colored stripping guide, wrapped in dark green windings with black tipping and pale green intermediates throughout. Bronze ferrules fit perfectly and the female is fitted with an extended split cane ferrule plug. All sections are full length and straight . The rod has a U-shaped hook keeper, aluminum winding check and pocket cap & ring reel seat over solid cork grip & spacer. The grip is soiled but smooth, and the butt cap is rotating slightly on its pin. The only other condition note is one tip has a re-wrapped snake guide closest to the ferrule. Constable of Bromley were perhaps best known for their "Wallop Brook" rods, designed as a shorter, staggered ferrule rod capable of casing light lines with great accuracy. The Wallop Brook rods were re-branded as R.H. Woods Classics for the US market. A nice 5wt, I find the action slightly parabolic. Sold in the original tube and bag.
