Charlton - 8500 .8 Fly Reel w/ 2 Spare Spools - RHW

For sale here is a Charlton Signature Series 8500 .8 fly reel with 2 spare spools. Good used condition, this is an early Charlton with the cork drag system, made before the switch to stacked carbon fiber discs (serial #SS9273). RHW. Signs of honest use throughout, a few dings and scratches, and one side of the reel foot has a small bend. Mechanically the reel appears perfect with an incredible range of drag resistance. One of the spare spools has a chip in the stabilized wood handle, and the other spare spool has the matte black finish of the early Thinn Line series Charltons. The telephone drag dial bears the original owners name (author and early Charlton dealer Richard Stoll). The reel weighs 11.68oz. A serviceable Charlton reel with enough extra spools to cover your bases on a long trip. The reel and 1 spool pack into their original fleece & Cordura pouch, while the Thinn-Line spool packs into a suede zippered case.
