Carlson, Sam - "Carlson Four" 8' 3/2 6wt Quad Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Sam Carlson "Carlson Four" 8' 3-piece / 2-tip 6wt quad bamboo rod in excellent+ original condition. Medium flamed cane with oxidized guides wrapped in crimson windings. Dark silk accents at the keeper and ferrules. All sections are straight, full length and serialized (#797). Squared Bakelite windings check leads into the 6.5" cork grip (clean and smooth), and the rod is fitted with an aluminum up-locking reel seat over fine wood spacer and Bakelite butt cap. Medium fast action, originally made for a 6wt but some may prefer it with a WF5. Most 8' Carlson rods are smooth and powerful, and this one is no exception. There are small mounting marks on the reel seat, but other than that I see no obvious signs of use. This rod was originally made for Joe Garman. Joe sold vintage tackle out of the back of his clothing store in Manchester, CT, and many anglers got their start in "Joe's Back Room".
