For sale here is a spectacular C.W. "Sam" Carlson 8' 3/2 4wt quad bamboo rod. Mint condition, the rod has been lawn cast but appears unused. Medium flamed cane with dark snake guides and Perfection stripping guide, wrapped in crimson windings with black accents. All sections are full length, straight & serialized (#823). Blued ferrules fit perfectly. The butt reads "Carlson Four" and the maker's signature. Squared winding check, 6.5" grip (bright and smooth), and cap & ring reel seat with pocketed butt cap. Pakkawood insert at the base of the mortised spacer, and the bluing remains quite dark. Medium-fast action, weight is 4.59oz. Rated as a 4wt but some may prefer it with a DT5. A stunning example of Carlson's masterful quad rods. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube.
