For sale here is an 835-2, 8'3" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt hollowbuilt bamboo rod made by Per Brandin. Serial 1/97, made in 1997 while Per was still sharing shop space with Mario Wojnicki in El Cerrito, CA. The rod features medium flamed cane with bright, hard chrome snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are transparent apricot with black accents. Truncated Swiss ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with a solid Delrin ferrule plug. Both sections are straight, full length and serialized. The tip is marked "N" for "Normale", which is the tip action preferred by Per in this series. The 6" cork grip is clean and smooth. The rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over highly figured Koa spacer that replaced the original (less figured) spacer in 2010. Medium fast dry fly action, light in the hand and it will cast a DT5 or 4. Stated and actual weight is 3 1/3oz. This was a personal rod of Per's, owned by him for over 20 years and sold out of his collection in 2018. A letter of provenance from the maker will accompany the rod. Sold in the original bag and tube with data decal and canvas tube protector.
