Brandin, Per - Model 834-2df, HB "L", 8'3" 2/2 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Brandin model 834-2df HB "L" in excellent condition. A bit of an experiment from Per, starting with his 834-2df taper and pushing the boundaries of hollow building (L stands for Lightweight). The rod was originally made in 2011; the original tips were stressed to the extreme and discarded. The current tips were made in 2019 and were made more hollow than usual, but not as extreme as the first pair. The cane is tempered to a medium honey color, and the rod is built to cut weight where possible. Small red agate stripping guide, truncated Swiss ferrules and single-foot guides & tip tops. Skeleton grip & reel seat with aluminum cap & ring reel seat. Stated weight is 2 3/4oz, but my scale reads 2.80oz. The rod is lithe and incredibly responsive, capable of casting incredibly tight loops. Action is on the faster side of medium fast, and despite being built like a race car the rod feels eminently fishable. Excellent condition throughout, nothing needs attention.
