Brandin, Per - Model 805-3df, 8' 3/4 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Per Brandin model 805-3df 3-piece / 4-tip quad bamboo rod. This is an early, solid built rod, the 16th rod made by Mr. Brandin. Medium flamed cane with dark snake guides and red agate stripping guide. The wraps are transparent brown with dark accents. All sections are straight, full length & serialized, and the ferrules fit perfectly. 6.25" grip is soiled but smooth, and the rod is fitted with a cap & ring reel seat over mortised spacer. The rod has seen some use but remains in very good condition. Some bluing loss to the reel seat hardware and the grip soiling are the most obvious signs of age & use. The tips are marked A, B, E, and F. Weight is 4.37oz. Medium fast action, perhaps not as crisp as the hollow version of this taper but this rod is a very capable and smooth caster. An impressive 16th rod from any maker! Sold in the original 4-compartment bag and brass capped tube.
