For sale here is an 8' 2/1 4wt hollow built bamboo rod from the bench of Masa Akaike. A new rod from the maker. Built on a flamed Tonkin bamboo blank with oil finish and transparent silk windings. Truncated Swiss ferrules are blued and fit perfectly. Both sections are full length, straight & serialized (#25057). 5.75" cork grip is brand new under crepe paper, and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised wood spacer. Weight is 3.35oz. Positive, dry fly action. I carefully lawn casted this rod and it feel light in the hand with quick recovery and great feel. I like it with a long belly WF4. A fine new rod from Masa Akaike. Sold in the original bag and tube with canvas tube protector.
