For sale here is an R.L. Winston 8'9" 2-piece / 1-tip, 7-8wt bamboo rod in mint near mint condition. Hollow-fluted construction with medium toned cane, 3x3 nodes, bright guides and "putty" colored wraps. Duronz ferrules fit perfectly, and the sections are full length, straight & serialized (#9712). 6" grip is smooth & bright, and the rod is fitted with the standard Winston Bakelite reel seat. Scripted weight is 4 3/4oz but my scale reads 5.22oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, I'm guessing it will be most comfortable with a 7wt line. All script on the rod is bold and clear, including the original owner's name. A fine SF-era heavy trout/light salmon rod from R.L. Winston. Sold in the original bag and tube.
