Sigman, Robert - 7' 2/2 2wt Bamboo Rod - Staggered Ferrule

For sale here is a 7' 2/2 2wt, staggered ferrule bamboo rod made by California rod maker Robert Sigman. Excellent used condition, featuring blonde cane, dark guides and carbide stripping guide wrapped in transparent gold windings with dark tipping. Bright ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length, straight & serialized (#9601). 6" grip is clean and smooth, and the rod is fitted with nickel silver check, bright cap & ring reel seat and dark burl spacer. Weight is 2.75oz. Staggered ferrule design, the tips are about 12" longer than the butt section. Progressive, dry fly action, on the faster side of medium fast. It casts a WF2 with ease, although I suspect it will handle a 3wt line as well. This rod comes from the maker's personal collection and was probably only used as a demo/display model. It packs into the original bag and tube and a copy of Bob Sigman's original brochure will be included in the sale. 

A note on Bob Sigman's rods from Per Brandin. "The quality of his rods was in my opinion deserving of wider recognition; they were always beautiful with top grade workmanship and as I remember his actions were very good. I did share with him the semi-hollow construction that I developed and then evolved with Mario while in California and I believe many of his rods incorporate this semi-hollow construction, though I believe he also made many solid rods throughout his career. Bob was a gentleman and a quality bamboo rod builder, and he will be missed."
