For sale here is a Don Schroeder 7'9" 3/2 4wt quad bamboo rod in mint condition. A rare hollow built rod from Don, serial #54513H. Flamed bamboo with oxidized guides and dark chestnut brown windings. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized. Tips are marked for ease of rotation, and the female ferrules are fitted with knurled brass plugs. 6.25" grip is bright and smooth, and the rod is fitted with a cap & ring reel seat over a beautiful dark walnut spacer. The bluing on the ferrules and reel seat hardware is perfect, and the butt cap bears the maker's stamp. The rod has been lawn cast but doesn't look like it has ever seen the water. Weight is 3.77oz. Action on the faster side of medium fast, a crisp dry fly rod with progressive character. Very few hollow-built Schroeder rods are out there; it may be a long time before you see another one. This one is essentially unused and packs into the original bag with stiffener and brass capped tube with maker's label affixed.
