For sale here is a 7'6" 2/2 5wt Leonard bamboo rod in excellent used condition. There is an intact hang tag indicating a model 65, although everything else about this rod suggests it was made after the fire in 1964 (and thus, shouldn't have a hang tag). The rod features straw colored cane with 3x3 node spacing. Dark snake guides and chrome stripping guide, wrapped in dark red windings with black accents All sections are straight and full length, and the 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, NS winding check, 5.5" cigar grip (soiled but smooth) and down locking aluminum reel seat over butternut spacer and pocketed nickel silver butt cap. The roll stamp reads "H.L. - H.L. Leonard Rod Co. - Makers" (generally considered the first "post-fire" stamp). A smooth casting 5wt, on the medium side of medium fast. Weight is 4.33oz. Sold in the original bag and tube.
