For sale here is an H.L. Leonard Model 38L, 7' 3wt 2/2 bamboo rod. This is a fantastic example of a pre-fire 38L in very good original condition, the exception being a small amount of filler and a nick at the top of the 4.25" cork grip. All sections are full length and straight and the apple green silk windings are in excellent shape. The rod features a cap and "wedding band" reel seat over butternut spacer, and the 9/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Original bag with stiffening dowel and slightly faded hang tag that reads: "7 feet, 1 3/4 ounces, No. 38L". Brass capped Leonard tube can be secured but does not screw down fully. These delicate rods are unlikely to win any distance competitions, but they are delightfully capable small stream wands. To find one in such fine original condition as this is uncommon; this one is ready to fish or collect.
