For sale here is a Jim Hidy 8'6" 3/2 5wt hollow bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Medium tempered cane with 3x3 nodes on the butt & mid and spiral nodes on the tips. Lightly oxidized snake guides and red agate stripping guide. The wraps are a deep garnet color with dark accents, and the agate stripper has 4 hairline cracks in the ring. Blue ferrules fit perfectly, and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. All sections are straight, full length & serialized (W-25962H-3). 6.25" cork grip is smooth with a hint of soiling, and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over mortised spacer. Weight is 4.09oz. Medium, full flexing action. A super smooth casting rod, best with a DT5 and capable of laying out long leaders with precision. Jim Hidy's work is impeccable, and this rod has only seen light use. Sold in the original bag and tube with customer brass hardware.
