Hardy - Hollokona "Hollolight" 8' 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Hardy Hollolight 8' 3-piece / 2-tip 5wt bamboo rod in very good used condition. Serial #H31594, made in 1960. Medium tempered cane with agatine stripping guide and tip tops & low bridge guides throughout. The rod is wrapped in gold windings with gold intermediates and black tipping. Spiral script on the butt section reads "The Hollolight" and "Hollokona - Regd. Trade Mark". All sections are straight & full length. Ferrules fit perfectly, with cork & aluminum ferrule plugs. All cork reel seat & grip with thumb relief. Hardware is anodized in light gold with bright aluminum butt cap. A few larger varnish chips have been filled in, but not offensively so. Otherwise, the rod is in good original condition. The cataloged weight is 4oz, but it's closer to 4 1/4oz on my scale. Smooth action on the medium side of medium fast, best with a 5wt line. Only made for a few years in the early/mid 1960's, this is a fine example. Sold in the original zippered partition bag and aluminum tube with pressure fit cap (Hardy stamps top & bottom).
