Halstead, G.H. - 7'6" 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Geroge Halstead 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. Restored by rod maker Tim Zietak, the rod was revarnished while keeping the wraps intact. Medium flamed cane, oxidized snake guides and Perfection stripping guide. Wraps are color preserved dark gold with red accents. Swiss-style male ferrules are blued and fit into a longer female ferrule as you might expect with a step-down. Ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length and straight. Tip tops are wrapped red/green for ease of rotation. U-shaped hook keeper, 6" cork grip (has been cleaned and is slightly ridged), and up-locking reel seat over mahogany spacer. There is no Halstead stamp on the reel seat, but it's quite clearly his work. The butt sections has faint script "Hoffman's Special", and the tube is engraved with "Tony Hoffman - 7 1/2' - 3 1/4oz." My scale reads slightly higher at 3.61oz, and the action is medium fast. A fine dry fly rod, it casts nicely with a WF5. A rare George Halstead rod, ready to fish. It packs into the original green bag and Champion tube.
