For sale here is a Per Brandin 8'6" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt quad, solid cedar core prototype bamboo rod. Excellent condition with the exception of 0.6" invisible wrap over a node crack, a repair performed by the maker many years ago. Golden straw colored cane with bright guides and ferrule, wrapped in apricot colored silks with black accents. All sections are straight, full length and serialized, and the ferrules fit perfectly. 6.25" cork grip is clean and smooth. Nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over mortised burl spacer. The tips have slightly different tapers, the lighter of the two is marked "L". Stated and actual weight is 4.1oz. A beautiful prototype using the cedar core technology pioneered by E.C. Powell. The rod appears to have seen little use. Sold in the original bag and tube with transparent makers decal. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
